Nik1. There are 3 things that make the 495 a 495. Long piston, which makes it a short stroke. The bleed hole in the piston. The gas ram has the force of about 38 kg when I measure it, a full power gas ram is about 60 kg some go as high as 70 kg for a NP2.

I was tinkering with my Remington Express Hunter .177 495fps and took her apart to look inside. The Nitro Gas Ram part # is BT5M22-0-1A 2021-03 that is in the gun now.
I wonder what Nitro gas ram part # I will need in order to get my Fps up a bit.
If I have time tonight I'll take the trigger mechanism off and slide the piston out and see if mine has a bleed hole in it.

Nik1, the bleed hole needs to be filled first, if you were to up the ram with the bleed hole, the piston would accelerate much faster and pound into the end much harder, making the gun a terrible shooter. The BT9M22-00-5 now the BT9M22-00-5A gas ram is the most ordered at around 60 kg of force. There are others, that I have that are in the 70 and 80 kg range from Crosman but they do not produce any better results.
