Very nice indeed, YepYep.
Told you, patience was the secret to getting a fine finish like you have achieved.
Not to worry when the barrel and action are back on.
Here's what my HW50SS and original finished 'Minelli' stock looks like. It has the low sheen as described by Daryl.
Seems your stock coloring is close.

After putting aside the stock for about another 10 days, and have no idea when I would have the adjustable butt pad from UK delivered, I just put the action back into the stock today.... Hmmm, looks not bad at all~

And the nice 35E with matt finish which just re polished with steel wool for a comparison... ImageImageImage

Both test shot... No surprised German accuracy to achieve one hole accuracy easily in my 9 yards basement range with either one~ Image

Nice couple of HWs for sure. Great job.
Yeah! the Bisley adjustable Butt pad also took a long time to get to me. I think CBSA expects to see the rest of a 'gun' in future parcels to your address and are holding it . Hahaha!

Alright! The adjustable butt pad arrrived yesterday and with a hand file on removing the un necessary metals, I got it on my HW30 this morning ~

Without comparison, you will never know how comfortable it's on the shoulder than the original butt pad from the factory....

Damxx Tapatalk service I can't upload picture since the morning... I will try again later for pictures...

Yeah... It looks a bit strange, especially without the adjustable cheek piece (comb).

The good is it really made the difference when you shoulder the rifle! Much comfortable pose to look through the scope...

The position you have the butt pad for comfortable shooting is interesting. It is not even similar any of my adjustable butts.

Still seeking a best position of the pad...

Pictures was taken in the morning and later in the evening, I adjusted it a little bit lower because I found my arm would hit the poke up butt piece when I turn the gun for cocking and loading and keep looking for a better spot.

Putting it high was because the fkrst time I shouldered a rifle with similar adjustable butt pad, it was like that setting. And I shoot on bemch rested mostly... maybe the shoulder alignment is different than standing?!

I guess it has a range of adjustment for a reason. But I'm with Daryl on this one - mine go the other way, and only slightly. Whatever work for you is the right way, but it does look funky.
How much metal did you have to file away, and was it a made for HW30 pad, or just generic?

Generic, comes with the pad.
I use the same position of the pad for offhand, sitting, kneeling or benched.
