Indeed, looks complete. Hope it doesn't become a safe queen now - :drinkers: you have some other very fine shooters.

Yeah~ it truly looks completed!

I still have a spring from Maccari on the side tho... It's not necessary to be put in...

Not a safe queen at all~ before the FWB come home, the 30 is the most accurate gun in the house, and I am working hard these days and try to manage shooting the 30 as good as the FWB...

The front sight had been removed for a long time when I mounted the scope...

And you are right~ following the advice from our lovely members here, the rear sight was just removed and waiting a chance to use my wife's expensive scented candle wax to seal the holes now~

Yikes, no, no. This rifle needs better treatment. Find some ss button head cap screws to fit.

It got 2 screw holes and one straight hole... Need to check hole depths, looks all 3 have their own depths... ( However no need to fully fill the hole to the bottom, right ?)

I have a PTFE rod incoming... Actually I was thinking making the treaded insert of the PTFE material... But not sure how hard / difficult this project would be... As I don't have tools at all currently...

Got the Apex Muzzle Brake/Weight from Maccari delivered today... My HW30 'looks' 'completed'~ ImageImage
I just saw this thread so i am a little late in posting....

Beautiful job on the HW30!

Do you mind if i ask what you think of the Maccari Apex muzzle brake? I have an Hw30 and Hw50 that need a muzzle brake.

On his website, Maccari says to use shim stock or electrical tape to fit this brake on the barrel of guns like HW30.. Do you mind if i ask you what you used to shim yours to fit?

Oh and how much length does it add to the barrel?

Thanks!

[emoji38] Thanks and glad to know ppl like this look of HW30~

I think there's new production run on the Apex muzzle brake and soon be restocked. But need to be quick before they sell out again... I know someone else is watching this too~ ;)

Not only the HW30, I am sure the 35 and the 50 both need to use electric tape to wrap the barrel end to fit the slightly bigger id of the brake. I got two and put on my 30/35. My friend got some for his 30/50...

And you don't need to do anything (filing, standing etc) on the muzzle grooves. However when you install the brake, no need to put the tape on the grooves but need to wrap on other place with two thin layers around the barrel ( stretch the tape to wrap).

It won't add too many length on the muzzle, maybe just less than an inch... As you need to push the brake all the way to the end to avoid unexpected air pressure build up inside the brake because there's no vent holes on the brake body...

And after putting on the Apex, the POI will be changed (maybe up to a few inches from 10 yards away). Just rezero your gun and enjoy the new look of it~
