Lauchlin - replacing the trigger-return spring with a piece of a ball-point pen spring works amazingly well
and oft times, is actually better than the $85.99 (US) rifle basics trigger replacement. I did this with mine and it's
just under 2 lbs. but nice and crisp. I've done 3 so far.
2 of my own and one for a friend. His actually is slightly better than mine.

I think I might have a brand new Mcarbo spring for that rifle. Thing probably cost me $25 after shipping. If I have it I can send it to you.

You will like the trigger after this.

I just installed the same spring, and I got a nice 3 - 3.25# trigger on my Marlin 981T.

**FYI I didn't swipe the spring being offered from lauchlin **
