i,m not having much luck with my guns so far this year. first my sig p365 broke-- now my old classic peacemaker. i was shooting it today and after two co2s it was doing great. was taking the second one out to do another but it got stuck. i finally got it out and this little round tube of steel came out with it. it looks like something that maybe has to be compressed to stay in place. i got it back down inside but i,m betting that it will just come out again. has any one had this happen. i had it fixed up once-- new seals and everything but that was a few years ago. double click for big picks.

I really like the paint job on your Crosman Peacemaker. Did you do it yourself? Are the grips real wood? They sure look like it. If real wood, where did you get them?

Any way, I have 3 Crosman single action pistols. Crosman .177 model 44, .22 model SA6, & model 1861. I took 3 to R&R Airgun Repair & he fixed them perfectly. Very reasonable pricing.

hi bb. thanks. ya i painted it myself with some blue and gold paint i got from canadian tire quite a while ago. i like the gold. but the blue didn,t turn out that great. i thought it would look like bluing. but it still looks good i think. the grips are real wood and as far as i know they are originals. i sanded them and stained them. a guy that used to come on here called i think cdnairgunner lived near me and he resealed it and fixed it up for me a few years ago but he doesn,t do it anymore. i,ve heard of r&r before and thanks i,ll keep him in mind.

Hm. I can't say I recall what that piece does. I took it hold the deal in though. You can push it back in, or run without it. Won't hurt the gun.

I've had all four of mine apart a few times and can't recall a piece looking like that.
The older style valve sealed to the co2 with an o ring while the newer style has a flat seal like the 38t.
This is held in by apiece that looks similar but if I recall correctly it is threaded.
I will have to check.

Hard to see in the photo but it looks different than mine. The seal retainer on mine is threaded. I wonder if the valve bodies are interchangeable?

Hi All,
Haven't posted in a long time, but thought I could help out here.
The piece that fell out is a CRS45-051 Seal Retainer used in some models for the 36, 44, 45 and SA6 valves. https://www.jgairguns.biz/45-c-78_89_158/crs45051-seal-retainer-p-10488.html
Compresses like an internal snap ring to give a friction fit to hold the end (face) seal in place. https://www.jgairguns.biz/45-c-78_89_158/crs45052-end-seal-p-10489.html
See the valve in the main image here: https://www.jgairguns.biz/images/schematic_images/158/CRSSA6Hahn45-1959-2.gif
and here: https://www.jgairguns.biz/pdf/CRS45-46Circa1970.jpg

Were you using a Crosman CO2? Perhaps the cap of the CO2 caught the retainer when you pulled it out. Some of the Crosman caps overhang the neck of the capsule and create an edge. Actually, found your old post and photo showing Crosman capsules https://www.airgunforum.ca/forums/post551664.html#p551664 as described.

The retainer should be able to be reinstalled. Hope it works out for you pete.

My 2 cents. Cheers.
