If you check out the pcp section one fellow did a fairly in-depth review of the .22 Red Wolf

Rob G: I am currently going through that specific thread, and it is EXCELLENT in terms of solid, and very current, content about the Wed Wolf. Very impressive rifle. I'm only a fraction of the way through the thread, but hope to find enough info within it to answer many of my specific questions. Thanks again for drawing it to my attention.

There are a few benchrest comps for air rifle in the US. I believe there is likely a selection of air rifles suitable for what you are looking for. The question will be availability in Canada I.e. does a retailer here bring them in or will they pass the government criteria to be allowed in. Rapid Air Weapons (RAW) makes a gun for benchrest and there will be a number of other guns suitable for benchrest.

robg, yes, the questions about Canada are important. I have focused on Canadian retailers because importing by an individual might not be practical or even possible.

Thanks for the 2 new links. As you can likely tell, I am in "sponge learning mode" on airguns right now, since they have changed SO much since I last some (back before PCP rifles were even available!). My last air rifle was a Feinwerkbau 300 single stroke and my last air pistol was a Feinwerkbau single stroke. Both were designed for 10 meter competition, not 75 to 100 yard shooting. :)

I don't even know yet if there is established air rifle activity on Vancouver Island where I live, but even if there is not, I don't mind being a pioneer and organizer.

I read that entire thread, and it is fabulous. Most of it is a long series of postings by a shooter who was provided a Daystate Red Wolf in .22 caliber, and whose interest right now is specifically finding a "multipurpose" rifle that he can use for field target, pesting, and long range target shooting. As a result of the FIVE THOUSAND rounds he shot throughout the 7 to 8 week time period of the thread, under both controlled and windy conditions, he is trying to figure out how to pay for the rifle so he can keep it. I can see why too. That rifle does shoot better than 1 moa, AND he was able to adjust it to the 3 power levels he wants. He also found it is pretty accurate with slugs as well as pellets, although its 42 ft lb maximum power limits the weight of slugs he can use. He seems to be ok up to 23 grains. I imagine the HP (high power) version of the Red Wolf would delete that slug weight limitation.

On top of the performance, the Red Wolf also looks fabulous - much nicer to my eyes than the rather "industrial" FX Impact.

This is a worthy candidate if I could figure out how to fund it out of my retirement budget without upsetting my wife too much. :)

The in depth review of the Red Wolf was nice to see. I get the impression it was done by somebody who knows what he is doing, willing to review warts and all and isn't coming across as an infomercial. Too bad we couldn't get similar reviews on all the rifles. He still had a tough time getting the RW down to 20 ft-lb for shooting field target.

Yes, it would have been nice if Daystate had programmed the lowest of the 3 pre-programmed power levels to produce just under 20 ft lb, so it would be easy to prepare for a Field Target match.

Sorry to cut in, I'm interested in that thread but I somehow didn't find it by the links given. Do you have a direct link or name of the thread?
Thanks,

Here is the thread you want that goes into incredible detail in testing the Red Wolf:
