Hi,
My name is Kimball, and I am originally from down south (California). Did some 3 position target shooting in college, and have had a few air guns over the years. Currently I have a daisy Avanti I am using for 10m practice. I am interested in 10m competition, both rifle and pistol, as well as eventually (once I get my pal) field target.

I am currently in the market to get a entry level 10m air pistol. Current prospects are: IZH46M (if I can find one), Diana bandit (is it good enough for target shooting?), Air Venturi v10. Open to other suggestions as well.

Welcome to the forum Kimbal, Diana Bandit is probably not gonna be as nice as the IZH46M, and this is the same gun as the artemis pp800 rebel, I would suggest the artemis pp700sa, have this one and it is a regulated pistol and very nice, for me this one comes close to a 10meter pistol than Diana Bandit.

I am thinking it is Cambridge, Kitchener and Waterloo.

Welcome Kimball. There are some FT shooters in your area, as Waterloo was the original location for FT in Canada.

Good luck on getting a suitable pistol and eventually getting a FT gun.

I am in Coquitlam, so BC Vancouver area.

I am looking at https://airgunarcheryfun.ca/diana-bandi ... w-product/
Looks like there is an option to get a regulated version. My main concern is the quality of the barrel, as I have seen some reviews that found burrs and other issues.

I would definitely prefer the IZH46m, but finding one is the challenge.

You're in the right track, send Wes an email, and he can take care of you

How is the rear sight on the pp700? From what I can tell it looks like it is not adjustable for elevation, and windage is just a crude set screw. Otherwise it looks awesome.

Its not adjustable up or down, sideways only , but the Williams peep or notch sight fits well.

The PP700-SA would need new sights - or at least an adjustable rear sight.
These tend to be VERY accurate pistols. Mine, in .22, certainly is. I run a red-
dot sight on it in the 11 mm grooves.
This is not a competition style 10m pistol. The balance is not right for that,
although I have shot some good scores at 10 m with mine, but not without
the red dot sight.
I also have the PP800 and also with a red dot sight. It also is not a 10m style
target pistol. They are more hunting pistols than target guns. Both do credibly
well on targets indoors, though. The PP800 has multishot magazines, whereas
the 700 is a single shot.

Talked to Wes at airgunarcheryfun, and decided to go with the Diana bandit. Wes has a contact that can lap and crown the barrel, plus upgrading it with a regulator, and it should make a pretty good starter pistol.

Will update once I receive it in a week or two.
