Nice to know ~

If I need to fill out forms (like buying PAL rated rifle online), Do I need to input the issue number too?

Some do, some places don't. Not really a big deal.

I know when I do restricted transfers, and they ask me to confirm my information. I never really spout off the issue number, and they never really bother asking.

I'm 2 years into .0006 a P.A.L. with non restriction
------------------------------------------restricted &
------------------------------------------12(6). - both possession and aquisition

To a dealer, just the PAL number - the issue # is immaterial.

I'm into .0007
- Things have changed quite a bit over the years...
I kind a miss the day's when renewal met a 10 minutes stop at the local cop-shop for them to type you another permit and take your $10 :bear:

Then again, the process for restricted is much faster now. Usually everything done within a week... back then, it was months before they got around to it. Then you had to drive back and forth between the cop-shop/store/range to get paperwork sign... and god forbid you had the wrong paper submitted in the wrong order!

Is there a way you can apply for 12(6) or do they not issue them to people who weren't grandfathered in?

Yep Yep. Congrats. I know it feels good. Go treat yourself to something pal rated. Personally I think you should join a range and shoot something with a little more kinetic energy that 177 air gun. Like a lot more kinetic energy and goes poof at the end of the barrel.

No, you needed to have a 12(6) pistol registered before the cut off date ( 1996 -1998 ish ) You can get 12 (7) if say your father passes away and he had 12 (6) firearms, but only certain pistols can. Like Pre 1945. Rest goto the smelters.

Ugh that sucks. I can't imagine how many classic guns have been lost because of this dumb rule. Well at least these bans and prohibitions are keeping short barreled pistols and high cap magazines out of the hands of criminals... oh wait... no they don't.

Thanks~ Have beem waiting for something from AGS for months which should be restocked very soon... However, range / clubs will be something in the future, don't have time and money to spend on it yet....
