"The piece that has two parallel arms sticking out..." That's actually called the "Hammer". One of the arms on my HW40 hammer broke after about 5 years of heavy use. I got a new one from a Canadian importer at the time and all was well. That's why I know the name of the part. I also replaced the hammer spring when it broke. All has been fine since then and my HW40 is over 21 years old.
Yep, I did call it hammer by name earlier, just tried to describe it so people know which one was causing problems.
Thanks for the clarification.

That sounds like the last issue I got on my P17 before I gave up taking care of it anymore would be this hammer problem...

I actually focused on the valve, but was lack of knowledge and experience to find out the reason then just replaced the valve o ring and gave up because that didn't fix the problem....

Here is an update on the XS120D's inability to hold air while pumping. I took the valve off then cleaned everything, polished the shaft also trimmed off the tip of the shaft. The pistol now pumps air every time.
