That sounds like the last issue I got on my P17 before I gave up taking care of it anymore would be this hammer problem...

I actually focused on the valve, but was lack of knowledge and experience to find out the reason then just replaced the valve o ring and gave up because that didn't fix the problem....

Here is an update on the XS120D's inability to hold air while pumping. I took the valve off then cleaned everything, polished the shaft also trimmed off the tip of the shaft. The pistol now pumps air every time.
