My first break barrel springer and from Canadian Tire on sale now $103 from $159. I would not have paid reg price but their small selection of overpriced airguns do go on sale often at good prices. Stoeger is not a big player as I have found and reviews for this one are limited. It is very well made and a little heavier than posted on the box and websites but compact which is why I chose it.

All my pistols/rifles have a small laser installed for indoor target shooting with my aging eyes. I had to remove the rear sight and add a rail adapter so that my laser would sit high enough not to beam in on the hooded front sight. My thread in Wanted forum for shooting table resulted in using an ironing board with large shooting bag to support this mild springer. I viewed some Youtube vids for bench rest shooting a springer.

JSB Exact 4.52 ((8.44 grains) - 10 shots in less than 1/2 inch group at 25 feet. JSB Express 4.52 (7.87 grains) two 10 shot groups BUT an inch apart ? WHY? So will stick with 8.44 grain.
I will have to remember that springers need consistent hold techniques for consistent results. Very pleased with my $103 purchase . The CT web page for this states 5 year repair warranty. HMMM!

Congrats! Seems like a sweet plinker :) .

FWIW, I often had very good accuracy in low-power small springers with JSB RS Exact 7.33 grains pellets. I think I can almost say it's a reference for me.

Happy plinking sir!

airmec!- I decided to try the RS after going thru a hundred shots with Exact 8.44 and Express 7.87 .As I said in thread start , it was looking good but eventually with the artillery hold with bag rest and other trial and error variations, I was less than pleased. THEN I tried the RS 7.33 with a medium hold with support hand in front of trigger guard , wrist resting on a firm mat at end of iron board and butt into shoulder. So much better results- small tight groups finally! Yes the X3 does have a mild recoil but ,for me, the artillery hold theme is a negative. As I said, being new to springers, I am pleased with this well built budget model ( only if on sale) and it does seat pellets further into the duct seal @ 25 feet than my Crosman M4-177 pumper. As we often say on this forum ,and elsewhere, keep trying various techniques and pellets!

Way to go! Glad to read about your results, I often noticed the same thing. So-so accuracy with 8.44, shoot some 7.33 and groups tighten. Another nice thing about mastering springers is that usually, when you shoot another kind of airgun (pumper, CO2, etc), you get better at it. Wish you a lot of fun with your new rifle!

I purchased this air rifle less than a month ago and within 50 shots the safety mechanism stopped working. Within ~250 shots the airgun began discharging immediately upon loading. If it doesn't discharge once it's cocked, then a bump on the receiver of the gun will also force it to discharge.

I would stay well away from this airgun and based on the customer service response, away from all Stoeger products. They effectively denied all responsibility for the issue and while offered to fix it, wouldn't offer a subsitution for a different model without this problem. From reading some online reviews, this isn't a lone case, and I think they need to take a more serious stand on such a serious issue.

The gun does look and feel nice, and the first ~50 shots where the safety worked were enjoyable, but I'd rather stick with my Umarex counterpart (Ruger air hawk) so I can have confidence nobody is going to be accidentally shot by this while trying to use it. I would never put a Stoeger airgun in the hands of someone after this, let alone a youth (this is actively marketed as a youth friendly model).
