An update from the organizing team and our host, the Grenville Fish and Game Club. With a bit more than three weeks to go, it is time to get serious about registering! To those that have let us know thank you and it is time to take the next step. For those that have not please let us know!

Important things to know and actions to take:

We have had a re-think around payment – partly due to Covid and also for budgeting. We are moving to use e-transfer. If you have any questions, contact Tim MacSweyn at cft.mac@gmail.com.
ACTION: please send your $70 registration fee to Tim MacSweyn at cft.mac@gmail.com by September 4th. This enables us to purchase prizes and awards. Put another way, the awards available to win and prize table items will be based on the number of participants that have paid up by September 4th.
Camping is available by the FT parking area. No trace camping is mandatory – you bring it in, you carry it out.
The sight in range will be open Friday afternoon.
No shooting on the FT course on Friday.
If you would like to participate in a ‘gun slinger’ fun event on Friday let us know.
Reminder – social distancing will be followed out of doors, face masks and hand sanitizer is required in any of the club buildings.

Looking forward to seeing you in Grenville.

Two sets of targets are set up side by side at 10, 20 , 30, 40, 50yards. All targets are 1.5" hit zone. On the firing line, two shooters side side by side with guns on their laps, on "Draw", they start and the first one that knocks all five down advances to the next round. So elimination rounds until the last two shoot it out for the win. We have springer class and PCP class separate. Sometimes the PCP and springer winners will have a go for fun.

We had a similar contest in our local black powder competition. It was called "The Duel". A 6' steel pole, anchored in concrete in a smaller car rim for the upright. On top of the pole was a collar
with 2 3' arms extending out each side & one out the back, with 8" steel plate paddles on the ends - The rod to the rear with a loop on the end, has a bungee cord running down to anchor on
the tire rim.
Guns as the side - on signal, each dueler shoulders his/her rifle and fires at his/her plate. The first to hit the plate, spins the plate back, and the other dueler's plate disappears.
The machine resets itself in a few seconds, rocking/rotating back and forth a few times.
My English Sporting rifle was unbeaten at this game, no matter who shot it. It is of a pattern of about 1850, the ultimate in fit and design for a sporting rifle for large and dangerous game.

This same "duel" could easily be rigged with lighter materials for a fun target for air rifle shooting/tie breaking.
