So years and years ago. I purchased a newer version of the Red Ryder BB rifle from Walmart. I moved to an apartment, and just left it at home. My step father uses to shoot the garbage can, to scare the squirrels since the barn cats are gone.

Well Its been not loading BBs and firing on it own. But he lacks muzzle control, so its like run away when he cocking. Mom said he shot the ceiling lol.. For once I won't get in trouble for shooting the wall :P

I assume the plastic trigger is worn. Are they even worth fixing, or just toss away and buy a new one?

If someone you know happens to be in the USA, Walmart sells RR for $25. Also Princess Auto & Cabela's sometimes have then on for between $35-40.

If it's just the trigger and you can fashion another one easily then sure why not. It's only your time. Just don't spend $ on it unless you are 100% sure the expense will fix the problem considering you can buy new break barrels for $30.

These used to be made in the USA. The new ones are Made in China.

If the old one was USA made...I leave it to you to decide if that might be more desirable to own than the new ones.

Either way, they are a pretty good BB gun.

I'm sure you can get a new trigger if needed. But yeah, don't spend a ton on it.
