What is the match going to consist of this weekend? Do we bring air rifles set up for a full length course? Shooting a full length course with iron sights? Any ancillary shooting matches?

UPDATE:
Due to COVID protocols, the event has a limited number of spots. If you haven’t per-registered with Chris, please do so NOW. No walk-ons can be allowed.

The match fee is $10 and will be a little bit different this year as the focus is on fun and comradery.

The event will be a 6 lane 48 shot match with 2 “surprise” lanes. The format will be traditional Hunter style adhering to the HFT rules as posted on the CAFTA site. Awards are based on the “surprise lanes” and not the score on the HFT course. We’re doing bragging rights for the HFT course. In the spirit of the day, the awards are also going to be a surprise and will be awarded during the chili and carrot cake supper following the match.

Please note, the meal will be held outdoors due to COVID restrictions of max 10 people indoors. So far, the weather is looking good. Still, come prepared.

For those that purchased t-shirts - thank you! Joel and Heather will be there with your order.

One additional item. Heather B is running a 50/50 draw. To quote her, “3 tickets for $10 or half "my arm" length for $20 draw to be held after the match.” The pot will be split between the winning ticket and CAFTA.

Finally, we are hosting the CAFTA Annual General Meeting after the Fudd during the meal. There are two positions opening up on the Board of Governors, so there will be some voting to be done. At the moment we have one nomination – Geoff MacGregor and one open nomination position. If you’re interested in a position, contact Brian Wernham at wernhamb@gmail.com.

A separate email will be sent to those that are eligible to vote at the meeting. Voting may be done either:

In person during the AGM portion of the Fudd Match
By response to the Voter email that will be sent out prior to the match.
The vote will be a yay or nay for the nominated names.

Voting eligibility is based on a person attending more than three CAFTA recognized matches (club, Provincials and/or Nationals) in the 2019 and 2020 match season. Note, this is a change from previous years due to Covid. The change is that we are including two years of match attendance. This change will be revisited in 2021 when the Covid restrictions are lifted.

Below are the required safety protocols at HAHA.

Indoor:
MASKS are required inside the Clubhouse and Kitchen.
Hand Sanitizing stations are available outside the entrances and must be used prior to entrance.
One Hand Sanitizing station will be provided at the entrance of the Rifle Range
Maintain social distancing
Outdoor
Hand sanitize and
Maintain social distancing
Stay safe, shoot straight and share Field Target!

Gates open at 8:30 with set up to follow. The range should be open by 9am assuming we get a few volunteers to help with the set up at 8:30. The shooters meeting will begin at 9:45 with the match starting at 10:00am.
