Hey guys,

I was recently tinkering with my Benjamin Classic and after a quick chat with Airgun Encyclopedia Chevota X, made a piston liner in order to reduce the spring twang, hence making the whole rifle quieter. Needless to say I was pretty pleased with the results, until a few days ago when it struck me that what I did might not be legal ? Technically what I did is create and install a device whose sole purpose is to reduce the noise made by a firearm, aka a silencer. While it’s certainly not what most people would refer as a “suppressor”, it still serves the same purpose, doesn’t it ?

Should I undo this ? Any input would be appreciated...

No different then putting a bolt buffer in a semi auto. Plus it does nothing to lower the muzzle report. Which you read the definition states muzzle sound. That like me putting a lock on my semi auto slide preventing the slide from cycling.

Or like putting spring isolators on your car springs.

It's legal.

Yes~ and my understanding is the slincer which is to lower the muzzle report from a powder burner (and/or a high power PCP?!)... And nothing related to the noise from the mechanical parts movements...

My Ruger Airhawk and my Diana 240 had a piston sleeve from the factory.

Because if that was the case, adding tar or grease on the spring. To reduce the spring twang, would be illegal.
