I have a Sam Yang Light Hunter 45 cal. I bought it used from a dealer but the 3rd time I took it out the cocking lever broke off then the valve inside crapped out.
I hunted everywhere possible to buy parts to get it working without any luck other than the plastic valve and the was $15 USD but with all the charges it was close to $100 CDN (that was way to much in my mind)
I had no luck sourcing the other parts.
I did find African Air Ordinance out of south Africa that had a upgrade kit for $275USD ($450 CDN with shipping and duties).
I never gave them another thought for a while but not finding anything from the US I decided to go for it.
I ordered a kit for a Sam Yang 909 like I was told it was from the dealer but it doesn't fit the 500cc twin tube Light Hunter.
I contacted African Air Ordinance and the guy there was great he offered to send me the right kit if I covered the shipping for the right kit and ship the wrong kit to one of his dealers in the US. $80 for the shipping.
After 2 months it came today.
I finally received the right upgrade kit from African Air Ordinance for my Sam Yan Light Hunter (not a 909 like I thought).
All I can say is what a difference! 100+FPS over stock even with 280 and 310GRN slugs. 150+ fps with 140grn round balls.
Can I say it's worth $450 Canadian for the upgrade.... no but I don't regret spending the cash.
It's a nice bush gun unlike my Airforce Texan. I'm looking forward to getting some shotgun ammo and testing it especially 00 buckshot. I think it will be fun.
I'm not a salesman for them as well I recieve nothing for recommending them

Ouch!
But congrats on the outcome. If you're an air gunner, Sams are a pretty cool part of a collection; Would love to have one.
Unfortunately, while the global market created by the Internet offers selections abound, the aftermath of keeping those products operational is part of the price we must pay. If you're happy, that's what counts 'cuz you've got a sweet piece in your collection.
