Can anyone please advise me on using a Nikon Tactical scope on a Hatsan 95, 22 cal. air rifle. Will this rifle destroy this scope !

Nikon scopes are reputed to be solid units, but a Diana ZR one-piece scope mount is a good insurance, just in case. Maybe contact Nikon directly to ask :?:

I've heard many times that springers kill scopes unless scoped are specifically rates for spring air rifles. Nikon is not a cheap brand so I would use it on springer only if it says in scope specs that it is specifically rated for springers. Or it has big warranty and you're willing to take a risk.

Which is why airmec mentioned the Diana ZR one-piece scope mount. That mount counteracts a springers recoil. Never tried one myself but the principle is sound. Seems to require some maintenance, lubrication to keep the slide moving well.

Leupod & Vortex scopes are also strong, high priced scopes. I would never put one on a springer unless the mfg'r specifically recommended that scope for springers.
This is due to the recoil forces of a springer, compared to CF rifles. Good scopes can take a beating from high recoil forces pushing the gun back and scope forward
but usually are not designed to handle the back and forth recoil forces of a springer. The recoil doesn't seem much, however it is quite destructive to scopes not designed
for it, no matter their price point.

I contacted Vortex back in the spring when I was researching scopes. This is my email and their reply.

I did the same confirmation thing with Hawke. I ended up with the Hawke Sidewinder.
