I think it's safe to say that I've enjoyed pretty much every single milsurp rifles I've had over the years.
- No4, a Canadian classic
- Swedish M38 short, a pleasure to shoot
- Mas 36, better than expected, just another set of dies...
- FN 49, fun to shoot, forget about reloading... it will chew your brass
- K31, an army issued target rifle!

Some of them, I wish I'd kept... but eh :drinkers:

On my "it would be fun", I'm still half-secretly wishing for nice sporting rifle built from a
- Ross
- Steyr 1895
- Norvegian Krag – Jorgensen

I like the older Mausers. Just sold an antique status KAR1871 11mm cavalry carbine.... issued to the Westphalian Dragoons. My fav unexpected find was a sporterized 7mm carbine that the dealer thought was Spanish contract, but which upon inspection proved to be a Boer capture carbine that some veteran brought back to Canada; the receiver and mismatched bolt were both from the first contract of Mausers mailed to Pretoria station before the Second Boer War broke out. An owner previous to me bedded it in a new stock, shortened the bolt and swapped out the dovetail issue front sight for one that zeroed a little closer than 400 meters.

The surplus gun I most miss and can't have again is my old Inglis Bren mk2. I first had it when they where non restricted as long as they where converted to semi auto, that thing was a blast with a case of 10 30rd mags!

So were converted M14's. The day after A/G Allen Rock said "we aren't registering these long-guns so we can confiscate them",
a work buddy who had registered his M14 got a note from the Detachment to bring it in for confiscation. That semi-auto .308 was
his moose rifle and had been for 10 or more years.
