I am looking for either wood or wood grain grips for my Umarex Colt SAA. Any idea where I might find them?

Thanks.

They look real nice, but at 70 euros, they are not cheap.

I think with shipping from Europe, they will set you back about as much as the airgun.

That’s what I was thinking....

Umarex offers wood grained ones on some models but they just don’t seem to sell them as parts.

Yes, they are a $20 US upgrade in the custom shop @ Pyramyd, but only sell ivory color grips as separate part (for $30).

https://www.pyramydair.com/air-gun-builder

https://www.pyramydair.com/s/a/Set_of_I ... olver/7380

Maybe call Pyramyd.

Would be curious to hear the answer.

I wonder what they do will all the parts they replace? Maybe use them on other custom orders?

i don,t know what happened to that place that made them in the u.k.-- they had a full page of nice looking (but plastic grips.) that they make. it was called shadowfaxslotcars.com/grips . i tried the website page but it won,t come up anymore. i tried to make my own today from pine wood. it,s a heck of a lot harder than it looks. i,ve got one almost done-- doesn,t look bad but i don,t know how i,m going to make it so i can put it on and take it off when changing the co2.

I replaced by Colt 1911 with real wood grips which requires a little wood working, but its not so bad
as they are meant to stay on the pistol, unlike the Colt SAA that must clip on and off to access the C02'
You could try making your own, I would not suggest pine, that's too soft. I'd buy a block of walnut

but again, this would be a project if you are good at that sort of stuff.

Modifying real 1911 wood grips to fit the 1911 airgun, is not that hard. See video from Replica Airguns;

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EkTAs3nEMMA

But the Colt Peacemaker is another story. It would require a lot more work.

Good luck to anyone who can do it. If you can figure a way to start with a wood grip and just modify it, would make job a lot easier. But still need too get around the removal to insert CO2 issue.

I can't believe I missed that. I ordered through that tool to get a 7.5" Ace in The Hole version and don't remember a grip option :hsmash

Using that tool to see what the different choices look like, I am increasingly thinking that the Ace in The Hole grips that I have or the faux ivory might actually be the way to go....

Short of the real wood ones which are more money than I am willing to spend.

Hey Happy,

I might have some wood Colt grips that would fit if your still looking.

PM with your e-mail address and I can send pictures and get measurements for you.

Thanks,
Chris.
