Disassembly & repair of YH clone PCP air compressor.
My clone air compressor arrived but it packed it in after about 10 minutes of running. The Allen head bolt which attaches the high-pressure piston to the connecting rod was loose and the one which attaches the connecting rod to the low-pressure piston had come loose and chewed a cone-shaped area in the end of the connecting rod. I will decide on how to proceed tomorrow.

I will also measure the pistons and any other dimensions which someone wishes in the hope that we can compare to YH parts.

Here's a link to some photos of the disassembly. The photos are too big to post here but may find time to reduce them: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/zgynz8fdmltt ... TtQla?dl=0

Piston and cylinder walls looks like it scratched up pretty good.

Meaning even with new rings, and a honing. You might get lower compression, and may not pump up as high due to ring blow by.

The apparent damage to the piston and cylinder were simply the result of poor photography. Both are very nice condition with smoothy burnished cylinder surface.

FWIW, I measured the pressure from the low-pressure stage at just under 150 PSI. This specification might be helpful for someone doing diagnostics.

The compressor still builds pressure past 3,000 PSI with primary bleed screw (vent) open, although the rate of pressure increase was very much slower.
