It has a straw barrel inside the housing.

I have heard the the barrels in the BB model are thinner (and more subject to damage) than the ones in the pellet version. Never taken one apart, so I can't say for sure.

Damaged inner BB barrels were a problem on some of the earlier versions.

From what I have heard Umarex resolved the problem.
