Be careful working on the trigger sear of that gun. There are many reports of accidental firing from these that people have modded. Start with a good cleaning and lubrication. Look for burrs or rough surface on the sear engagement point.

The stock might not look too good with stain if it's full of putty. Maybe try some brown or black leather dye from Michael's or your favourite craft or leather shop.

A good polishing and some moly paste helps with the trigger. Don't reduce engagement too much on these direct triggers.

Todd has the right idea. Don't try to make a target trigger out of one of these primitive triggers. It will be unreliable. Polishing and a little moly paste will make a very shootable trigger. I reworked the triggers on both my B3s like this and they're both very shootable and 100% reliable. About 2kg and a little creepy. No machining necessary.
