Looking great, Tom. My higher powered .177 HW97 prefers green and white tin JSB Cometa 8.44gr. in both 4.51 and 4/52mm pellets.
1/10" groups at 50/55feet - yes - .100" centre to centre.
I had one 5 shot group on a standard air gun target last winter (indoors), that still supported the 8.44gr. 4.51(or2?)mm pellet on top of the hole. I have no idea
how to measure that one, as the lead-wash on the paper was still under pellet diameter of .177".
These rifles "rock"!

That is great Daryl! I seemed to remember reading seasoned FT Shooter Mac somewhere saying around 770-760ish fps is perfect for accuracy. This one does exactly that.[emoji16][emoji16][emoji16]

Many times during practicing benched, it does pellet on pellet at 50ft. I love it! [emoji16][emoji16][emoji16]

Mine is running 872fps with that pellet. This was a test a few years ago, with this rifle, testing
several different pellets, at 20yards.

One thing is obvious, HW97K is not pellet fussy. It even shoots Crosmans well. Great to know that. I have a whole bunch of Crosman pellets.

You have that right......it just goes to show, if a gun is engineered right it will shoot right.

Just received a beautiful blue laminate stock for the HW97K from another CAF member, much better looking than the beech stock. I heard that it is backordered from Weihraugh, So I guess it is becoming rare right now.

Looks sharp. I was tempted... decided to stay with my beech stock. I'm loving the blue you got going on there and with your HW 50 as well. I'm still considering bluing my D34.

Those blue/grey "lams" are really nice.

Thanks guys, I had been looking for awhile. When Daryl sold a thumbhold stock and started the musical chair on HW97 stocks. I had to get in on it.[emoji12]

I sold the thumbhole blackline and bought the thumbhole beech to replace it. The beech has the adjustable butt plate, which is nice. It only needed about 1/2".

Beech or Walnut thumbhold stocks are nice to have, too. I wouldn't mind that at all.[emoji6]
