I have a HW97k with the PG3 SHO tune kit. just wondering if anyone has any maintenance tips like when to oil it or do I need to take it apart every time or is there a easier way?and how often since it's a leaver action not like a break barrel. and barrel cleaning when or after how many rounds?

I've had my HW97 in .177 for maybe 6/8?, maybe more years and I've never cleaned the bore.
I've never taken it apart and since it still shoots tiny groups, I won't do either until
that changes or something happens. My guns are not stored in cases, either. They are stored
on a rack in a locked "gun" room. I check the "lock-tighted" screws now and then to make sure they
are still snug - they have not loosened since I put blue lock-tight on them. Screws that loosen, change
POI.

ok and you have never cleaned the barrel? and how often do you shoot it? I shoot mine like every other day like 25 to 50 rounds? some times once a day depending on weather I pretty much have a 100 yard target range in my back yard

I've shot maybe 3,000 to 4,000 pellets (maybe more) through it is all. I used to shoot at the club, indoors, during the winters, 2 nights and 1 afternoon
all winter long. Most sessions, I would go through 100 to 150 pellets.
This year, that isn't possible. Shooting at home, I don't do much, any more. Last time out, it was still shooting tiny (.1" to .2") 5shot groups at 50'.
That's measured centre to centre - 1/10" to 2/10", so I feel it doesn't need cleaning or oiling? At some point, I will take it apart and re-do the spring and
seal, but not until something happens to it, most likely. I did buy a Vortek kit for the HW98 and never got around to putting it in. I sold the rifle and the fellow
is happy with it, just as it is. At some point, he might want the kit. We'll see. If hunting with them or shooting outside and they got wet, they'd get a thorough
drying & cleaning.
