The rule book for the game you want to play.
The ballistic charts for the pellet you want to use

I found the rule book on line and ballistics, more about the sport and equipment/guns people are using in the Field Target sport.

I guess it depends which division you want to play in.
Just about any reliable airgun would do.

Seems like Hardair magazine did a series about it not so long ago

Lots of stuff here from the folks who invented the sport.

Canadian version with very little traffic, but lots of older posts with info.

While not specific to FT, lots of good reading about the mental part of the game and position shooting.

Thanks Tim I'll check out those links. I have read the series in HAM also, Thanks for the reply sillymike! As far as the reliable air gun I have been bitten by the TX bug.

From what I've gathered, the AA TX200 .177 is probably the most popular springer among FT shooters :drinkers:

Hi Kevin,

A bit late to your post... The TX is definitely popular and one you'll see a lot of at Canadian shoots. The HW97 and 77 are common spring guns and have had good success in matches, both here and in Europe.

One of the best ways to learn FT is to come out! We're a friendly bunch that gladly shares information. You can come out to observe. The best way though is to bring what you have and give it a try. You'll learn loads and have a pile of fun at the same time. Your first match is also free!

Check out the club section on the CAFTA site - http://www.caftacentral.ca/ft-clubs-listing/. We've just posted the 2021 schedules.

Look forward to meeting you at an event this season!
