It's a very tough decision you made, Joe, but
is made in the best interest of the pet. Well done.
It's been 15 years since putting down my Foxton's Lady
Jessica Springer and I still tear up thinking about it. She
was with us 16 years. Know that many of us have gone
through and are going through this again, with you. :drinkers:

Sorry for your loss.

I feel your pain. I had to put my cat down on Wednesday. She was my little buddy for 15 years, sure am going to miss her. The place feels empty without her.

To top it off, there is so much demand for pets right now in Toronto that finding a kitten is almost impossible. If anyone has any leads on any kittens, let me know. I'm willing to travel to pick it up.

Been there, sorry for your loss.
Not sure if I will ever have a dog again , too painful to say goodbye.

Thank you, no plans for another dog....you’re right about what you say.
Maybe I’m missing a screw or two but if I were to get another I would almost feel if I were cheating on him, he was fantastic and that’s how I want to remember him, the only one.

So sorry to hear. We had to put our oldest cat down a few months ago. Sad as it is. It is way more peaceful in the house.

Unfortunately I will always have a dog. A house doesn't seem the same without them.

Thank you....

I get both arguments and I wish I could get another dog because every time I came home he made me feel so special lol, and the house now is so empty and quiet.

I’m very close to retiring and hopefully if I’m lucky enough to be somewhat healthy for the next 10-15yrs I would like to travel on occasion and I found it so hard to do with a dog.

I tried kennels but whenever I got him back it was a mess, not only the expense for boarding him but also a trip to the vet afterwards not to mention the monthly insurance cost.

FYI I was with TRUEPANION insurance if anyone is considering them go elsewhere, with the exception of my first claim all other claims I had they did all they could not to pay.

This last claim was around $1k they offered $89.....I told them to keep it as they are supposed to pay part of euthanasia and let’s say funeral, meds etc.

Joe

Pet insurance is a waste and a scam.
We instead put monthly amount in a " vet account" and it worked well.
Our dog obedience trainer Recommended the same system. She had seen many people being ripped off by the so-called pet medical insurance companies that never actually cover any of the claims. They are Just taking advantage of people and Not providing a service.
