i guess this is the hammer spring out of the DW 715. I wonder if he could measure it?

i found and signed up to this forum talk on the DW's, some interesting things these guys like to do as far as modding.

I found some info on these revolvers from another post, talking about barrel length. I should have done more research on these, before buying, especially not having redly available parts. some people might not care.

" The newer DW715-6" pellet version is the one that has the reduced inner rifled barrel.
The DW715-6" bb version has a full length smoothbore inner barrel.

The pellet version (with it's smaller rifled inner barrel) will probably be just as accurate as the bb version (with it's full length smoothbore barrel), I tested my one (the smoothbore barrel) before I sold it and was surprised at both it's accuracy and small grouping size when compared to my FULLY rifled DW715 6", so I personally would recommend the bb version over a newer (2018 onwards) DW715 pellet version.

If you could get either a 2015 or 2016 DW715 pellet version on the secondhand market that would be the best choice, but failing that I'd personally go for the DW715-6" in the bb version as it will be just as accurate and have slightly more power than the pellet version.

The DW715 and DW first generation cartridges are totally interchangeable, so you can use either of them in either gun but I'd recommend using the DW715 rear loading shells in any of them as the give more power per shot. There's a sticky thread on the top of replica section that gives details of all the known cartridge compatibility for CO2 replicas.

It's not a full rifled barrel, it's fully rifled for its whole length - all 2.5 inches of it!
The rest is a 6mm sleeve out to the end of the shroud.

Also a friend purchased a new DW 715 6" and I can confirm that it uses the exact same rifled barrel from the 2.5" and the rest of the inner barrel is merely a 6mm diameter sleeve that sits over the 2.5" 4.5mm barrel and extends to the end of the gun. Pretty rubbish to be honest and it doesn't seem to shoot any harder or more accurately than my 2.5"

So basically I believe all the Dan Wessons are the same gun internally now, with the extra barrel length now purely a visual change rather than a performance change"
