This is an 1896 Lee Enfield. Does anyone know what the apparatus is that are added to this gun ? And what's the electric wire for ? looks like some kind of electric actuator attached to trigger.

Thought of that too but how being a bolt action ?

I believe the bolt wouldn't lock, and as the bullet shot the bolt would blow back against a spring and bounce forward to strike the next one. I dont recall the way they did it though. Those guns were modded so many ways. They would put extended triggers for shooting from trenches, snipers would add anti recoil systems to them.......you can find so many different mods.

You are probally right Notec. Ddin;t know if it was some kind of booby trap device or was bolted to a airplane or what. But it was an electric device.

Looks like a rifle that was used for training artillery/anti-thank crew
- Mounting a rifle as a sub-caliber firing device (to save on ammo) is a common practive

Nice old Lee Speed, missing most of the top wood.
The apparatus appears a Semi Auto attachment, some of which is missing.
Silly-Mike's Boy's Anti-Tank gun attachment looks more viable in this instance, by the looks of the device.
If a semi-auto attachment, it would have been on the right side of the stock, I think.
