do copper coated BBs leave a residue, flecks and flakes in airgun barrels as they appear to do in a PLASTIC jar? :!:
..and no, these weren't bouncing around in the trunk of the car. lol

I expect they do. The scrub here and there on the way down the barrel, so must slough off material here and there & it likely builds up over time.

I typically only buy the black BBs now. They cycle the best, they look the best, no residue, and they blend in the best scattered around the yard. :P

Black Diamond
Black Widows

actually no need Leon..
you'll note that they proudly offer their BBs in very clear plastic bottles..

no need for an opaque container to hide residue,
when there isn't any.

I have been using Daisy bbs. No detritus left over in the bottles. I threw away what Crosman bbs I had when I saw the copper residue and excessive rust left over in the bottles.
I did a test with a Daisy 880 for velocity.
First number is # of pumps, second is velocity with Crosman, third is velocity with Daisy. I'll just show a few.
3, 445, 480
5, 540, 580
8, 620, 670
10, 650, 700

I think the Daisy bbs are more accurate. Hard to tell since bbs are so inaccurate compared to pellets. I have only shot Daisy bbs in my Daisy 74. It's beer can accurate at 15 meters (which at 275 fps is about max range)
My neighbour's grandson put two 8000 count bottles of Daisy bbs through my 880. There was no schmutz left over in the gun. If they had been Crosman bbs the gun would have been a mess of copper and rust powder.
FYI -there is no change in pellet accuracy in the 880 after all those bbs.
