Hey so I was thinking the pin that connects the 2 pieces of cocking linkage together in this gun is a bit underwhelming.
If you look at the stock itself, it has tracks inletted to clear the pin which protrudes a little bit... but doesn't really do anything. With the breech closed the linkage rattles around, and when I cock the rifle the linkage lifts away from the tube and snaps back down about 1/2 down the cocking stroke.
You can see in the picture where the leading end of the tracks are all rounded off by the factory pin.

So I looked closer, there's room for some wheels in there...
Cut a longer hss pin, 3/4" I think I had room for. Drilled and cut a couple rollers from brass and put it together. Gives the cocking stroke a more positive feel. And no more rattling linkage. It wouldn't be too hard to install some small aluminum or steel angle into the stock along the tracks, and still have room to work with bushings or bearings.

Hey at that point I can call it an accustock

That's some fine work you got going on there. You'll have the smoothest xs-28 on the planet. :drinkers:

Really a good idea to tighten up sloppy linkages. Well done.
I hear ya, Duke. Almost time for a beer or 2.

 thanks.
At this point I'm just hoping everything holds together.
Next step is to redesign the cocking shoe linkage. Going to try using peek as the face of the shoe (part that pushes on the piston). See how strong the stuff really is
