Not sure defiance is the solution. And I suspect not enough people to get all riled up about the issue Hunting rifles possibly, but not BB guns.

This is not about BB guns; this is about all guns and also our rights to use them legally. Many have mentioned this, but it seems to be ignored or forgotten quickly.

Heaven forbid we ever get defiant. That simply is not the Canadian way that has lead to us to being able to preserve our rights so well.

No amount or number of laws is going to stop crime. Only people who obey laws, are effected by laws. Making more laws does not stop or even reduce crime,
it only appeases those who do not understand laws and criminals. More laws sounds to the ill informed, as if the Government is doing something to address crime.
I don't know how many times we have to say this - people who do not obey laws, become "outlaws", today, we call outlaws, "criminals". Making more laws has no
effect on criminals. Breaking the law is a crime. Passing more laws that breaking the law, is even more unlawful, does nothing to stop the crime from being perpetrated.
Socialist governments pass laws designed to create more criminals, which justifies their existence to create more crackdowns, more policing, more controls of the law
abiding citizens which is what those governments are all about - control of the people.

Probably no election during a pandemic, so why not push your agenda hard with not having to pay the price at the polls.

Our society have invented something called prison for those who can not respect the law..

There are many psychological and emotional reasons why some people don't respect the laws.

Now unless we all turn into robots.. as long we are human affected by mental illness and emotion there will always be a bunch of people not respecting the law.

But one thing has nothing to do with other.. right now they are about to ban airgun... they think banning replicas will reduce gun violence or something. You can rant all you want, you can come up with statistics, it's not going to stop the trend. You have to sit and negotiate or bring this to court.. but you will lose because the government can technically decide to ban every firearms because they say that owning a firearms is a privilege here in canada...not a right.

I beleive you have to sit with them with some sort of compromise....

So you are suggesting we do the same things we have been doing, but expect a better a new result. Seems I've heard a definition along those lines.

I would try to politely explain MP that gun owners are really upset with bill C-21, and probably even Liberal gun owners will not vote for Trudeau next election. But there are also a lot of people who own replica airguns, airsoft and replica paintball guns who are happy as well because of that bill. I would expect that it will be big election issue for Liberals, they run minority government already. So I would ask MP what are the benefits of passing this bill if it likely to alienate that many voters? Maybe also remind to that MP that last time Liberals lost power when people got upset with long gun registry.

Maybe that would help ?

I am sure THEY see this as an opportune time, as with the May 1st announcement, using covid as an excuse.
I am sure THEY see O'Toole as a weak opposition leader, just like A. Shear & can push the UN's agenda - as he
actually noted in the video. Now, he didn't note all the agenda he's pushing, but steps towards disarmament are
always present. He keeps a close eye on Comrade Arden of New Zealand whom he idolizes. What happens there,
also happens here, except he is pushing towards when he "thought" was an easy target, air soft and paint-ball.
To people of his ilk, private citizens training in shooting at people is abhorrent and is training they do not want to
happen. That they are all camo'd up as well, adds fuel to that fire. Just a thought on this. The reason for this "push"
might be as simple as this - or is felt to be a additional simple stepping stone towards total disarmament.
They are presenting bans which they feel they can justify to the general population, "taking dangerous guns off the
street and making it safer for all of you (sheep") at least the left leaning ones of whom their voting "base" is composed.

I agree that criminals aren’t going to be affected by any more gun control, and also that as long as Trudeau’s primary advisors are Ecole Polytechnique hystericals, that they won’t stop until water guns are illegal too. It’s ideological, not rational, and that’s not how laws should be made.

I also think the “replicas look too real for police to tell the difference” isn’t a valid argument either… pardon me, but aren’t police supposed to try to de-escalate rather than shooting first? When did killing citizens become the standard operating procedure?

If the goal is to try to reduce the proliferation of dangerous firearms, they’d be smart to change the 500 FPS limit to 1000 FPS for .177 and .22 air guns. That would make guns suitable for small game, pesting, and target shooting readily available. 16-18 FPE is sufficient for all those purposes, yet significantly safer than 100 FPE 22LR rounds. If many people didn’t need a PAL for pesting and small game, it would reduce the number of powder burners bought, and reduce the number of people with access to even more powerful guns since many people wouldn’t bother getting their PAL. Of course, that would be too logical, and wouldn’t be acceptable to people who just have an irrational fear of guns.

The current approach with C21 is going to result in there being lots more people getting their PALs, and then buying powder burning guns. So C21 will probably spur the proliferation of more firearms in Canada. Canada’s gun control regime is ridiculous.

That's about the jist of it, too, Mac, and Lauchlin. Like Trudeau said, "this pandemic is allowing us to push our agenda further than we could have otherwise".
Might not be a word for word quote on his facebook video/add, but it is very close. He was also talking about the "Great Reset of Capitalism" coming at Davos
by the "World Economic Forum"- bunch of rich bankers, philanthropists and word leaders getting ready for the NWO push. 10 years ago "they" said NWO was a
conspiracy theory by the radical right. Since they are so much closer to achieving it now, they acknowledge it almost every day, even having adds for it on TV
and in U-tube.
"You will own nothing and you will be happy". Any of you see these NWO adds? "Everything you need will be delivered by drones". "You will rent instead of owning."
Outlawing firearms is going to be needed to get it started. They must do that to ALL firearms. I am assuming none of them did any homework and they didn't realize
what a huge hobby/industry air guns are and have, including air soft and paintball. We'll go after the kids toys first. They thought they were just picking away & the
firearms owners would look the other way because they weren't going after all the powder burners. That, of course, is coming.
