was sent a couple repair jobs and this is the first one, a BSA airsporter
it came with just the action no stock, and right from the start there was some
bad kinks in the cocking slide section of the tube, after a quick disassembling of the back cap
it was obvious the piston was not coming out without a fight...

pictures will tell the story of this repair job....

Nice hot mess... :(

piston finally made its way out and yes you guessed it, not good either

looks like someone tried to fix a crack or something

made a new washer and spacer

polished both spring ends, all cleaned up and ready for some moly... :D
Image
after fixing the kinks in the tube and moly lubing everything I tried
to put the piston back and it was still not moving properly so I pulled
it back out and noticed the aluminum piston head was binding somewhere
in the tube I think it was not aligned properly so took a couple thou of the
head assembly and now it went in much better....

Delrin Top-Hat wasn't in very good shape either :|

fixed the kinks and put here back together and she's alive again... 8) :drinkers:
