For the second time in 2 years, a house on the next street over had a fire.... Last time it was a motorhome parked out front, this time a shed in the back.... The photo is taken from our porch.... :o

The barn in the background is over 110 yrs. old, it was the old Livery Stable.... Fortunately the local Volunteer FD saved it.... 8)

Mouse chew....or?
It was curious about 4 years ago 3 houses, two across the street from me and one around the corner, burned down within a year of each other. Space heaters took the blame for the first two, not sure about the one around the corner. Scary stuff house fires. Sadly the old fellow across the street had paid off his mortgage the year before, and didn't have any insurance on the house so he lost pretty much everything although he did sell the land and he demolished mostly what was left of the structure himself and carted it away. The other 2 got juicy insurance payouts and built giant houses on the properties. Same with the old man's property but developers make the $ on that.
Keep safe people.

The guy looking after the property was using a burn barrel and went into the house.... Bottom fell out of the barrel, caught the grass, and the wind blew the fire onto the shed.... Two of the neighbours got damage, one had their fence & shed (in the foreground) charred (he had 6 jerry cans of gas for his ATV inside, plus propane tanks, really lucky there).... and the other, much further away (downwind of the barn) had their vinyl siding and soffit melt somewhat.... No injuries, fortunately....

That is very lucky indeed, can you just imagine gas and propane going off.
Thank God for small miracles.
