So all of a sudden I started blowing burst discs in my compressor at just over 3000psi? any ideas and/or suggestions as to why and a fix for this? This compressor has successfully filled a 4500psi tank to approx 4100 or so psi so I know it does go much higher with its pressure.

Hey Jaxcat,

I have an inkling .........

In addition to the burst disc, there should also be a small brass insert, which is easy to miss or misplace the first time you replace a blown burst disc. Without the insert, the disc will let go at a much lower pressure as more surface area is exposed. A photo showing the part can be vied here: https://www.joom.com/en/products/5bf7a9 ... 01012c8263

Cheers!

Hi Jaxcat,

Are you certain the insert is positioned correctly? I had exactly same problem until I got it right. Only other logical explanation would be defective discs or discs rated for a lower pressure.

Cheers!

Are you reading the compressor pressure from only one gauge?

Perhaps the gauge is out of calibration?
