I have been using one for 3 years and have just started to test a new spare I have had for 2 years. The new M4 has been cleaned and pump cup lightly oiled but much harder to pump 4-5 pumps than the older one. I can't remember if the older was this hard . I don't want to try disassembly .
Will pumping get easier? It has had 125 shots so far.

I can see no mechanical reason pumping would become easier with time other than it not sealing properly.
But I can tell you from experience, the older I get the harder it is to pump everything.

I know that too much lube/oil is not advised but added a few more drops of pellgun oil over a week on the new M4 which had sat NIB for 2 years.
Pumping effort much less now although not quite as smooth as my older one.
