The German girls are sure great looking and performing!
I got my new to me Diana 48 this week, and had a chance to shoot it over the past few days. She caught my eye a long time ago but I resisted until I couldn't and now I'm glad I succumbed. What a sweet shooter.
Cocking and loading are effortless, in .22 cal an with the open breach it's so easy to load. I recall fighting wit my .177 under-levers trying to get the tiny pellets into the breach. Even my HW97 in .22 is harder to load than this beauty. And the shot cycle, my word it's just a gentle thud, almost zero recoil. I haven't opened it up, and no need to it shoots perfectly.. sighted in with JSB exacts single hole off the rest at 10 yds, and I''m hitting 10/10 my 2" aluminum spinners at 30 yards offhand - for me that's a good as any.
Oh well, another keeper..something else will have to go.

Looks nice and indeed a beautiful one, again~
It's hard to find a sub 500 power in such a 'tank' design 48 I think. No doubt it's a great shooter~ Congrats! Nice found~

Well done, Duke. Those RWS48's are nice rifles indeed.

Oh my what a gorgeous fraulein.
That is one fine springer. Well done sir.
One thing I am not quite sure about. What's this "something else will have to go" stuff all about? :)

Congrats Duke. What a nice example of the time tested and wonderful German engineering.
They are getting somewhat scarce for us in Canada. Best of success with 'her'.
Cheers!

Hi Duke, would you put up some groups shot with the 48? I am curious to find out!

She chronicles at 495 with standard CPHP pellets, a bit faster with the JSB Exact RS, that gave these 5 shot groups at 10 yd, off my wobbly rest.

Nice shooting, Duke. I would love to have one of these exotic beauties on my range. One can dream . . .

That's a real beauty for sure. Wanted one since I First saw it in a magazine when I was in grade 7. Can't remember the magazine... It came around every fall. Maybe wholesale sports?
I've always liked the furniture on the dianas, more stream lined and practical than some other European rifles...
Anyway, I'm kinda jealous.
