My S400F had a Altaros regulator installed. Factory recommended setting from Altaros was 135 bar for 12 fpe.
It was set in the factory that way, trying to get higher shot count, I adjusted the reg down to 125 bar then installed it. Over a period of 4 months, the reg setting kept creeping up, finally to 145 bar. So I set out to re-adjust it this morning.
Well I must say honestly, I think if I were to do it again, I would not have purchased the Altaros reg. The way my S400F shot in AA OE mode without a reg was already consistent enough. The improvement offered in its current form is not significant enough to justify the added expense.
I was already Getting 80+ shots per fill, only slightly less consistent.
Here are the current results, using 8.64gr H&N FTT, I am still happy with it. In 12 fpe setting, it gave me enough accuracy and shot count.

I am far from it, Duke! Thanks anyway. I wish I could shoot like the FT guys. Shooting with the stick is a tough skill to acquire.

I like the AA510, factory muti-shot is what I am missing with the S400F.

Thanks for sharing the experience about those 'add-ons'. You know that's not a cheap investment and of course not a cheap experience ~

Not cheap for sure. I think you do get what you paid for. These high end guns offered much better performance than cheap stuff.

For Even better shot count, I adjusted the reg down further to 110-115 bar. Just shot a string from 180 bar down to reg set point. 72 shots with the same POI and consistent speed between 790 to 773 fps. I think it is as close to perfect as I can be without touching the tp or hammer spring.

Have not had a chance to do a full shot string on my S400F. I found it likes H&N Baracuda Light 9.57gr pellets. Shot count is 96 shots. Avg. is 12 fpe. Here it is.ImageImage

I remember this is your first PAL rated rifle and it's such a great one after your tunings~ of course countless time, effort and investment.... Couldn't believe you are going to let it go~

It's a very nice match grade rifle ready to putting itself into competition now!!

Good stuff, Tom. Those AA400's are REALLY Accuracy.
I shot Gordo's on our club's indoor range a whole bunch of years ago at 20 yards. I used the targetz.com website's fly buster target and scored head shots on all 20 flies.
