Rowan Engineering, nice stuff. I've read a lot of good things about their riser. Hope your score reflects the update.

Added the Rowan riser to stock. Probably does not help the looks, but for those that want adjustability and the ability to hit targets at all levels of elevation, I am hoping it is the cat's meow.

Elevated shots, especially standing and kneeling, should be more stable, at least that has been my experience.

Hey Jefferson, backyard practise has been good and I have a match on August 15th, so hoping all is set up well by then. The Nationals are on September 11th and 12th, so a big test then. Will let you know how it goes.

It has been a while since I visited this thread, but a nice cool rainy day is a good time I guess.

The first match I shot in August was a great success as I scored a 54/60 and although there were only a couple of targets that force you to raise your aim significantly, with the Rowan riser, they were pretty routine. Being able to maintain a very steady and natural shooting position on these raised targets is huge. This was my prep for the Nationals and I was quite sure I was ready.

On the first day of the nationals, I started a little shaky (all me), but then targets started to fall. When I was just over half way, I noticed the range indicated on the wheel seemed off. Then, when adjusting the wheel, I noticed the big wheel moved, but the focus did not change. The grub screws on the wheel had loosed and I could no longer use it for range finding. So, hunter estimating of distance from then on and I made a few errors to drop targets here and there. I ended with a decent 48/60 and had to switch to the SR for day two. I knew it was not the gun but my failure to secure the big wheel before the big match. Another lesson learned the hard way, but they are the lessons that seem to stick with you. I was able to maintain a second place finish behind Joel who registered a 56 and 58 for a total of 114/120; that is rarified air for sure.

I have my other HC all set up with a Tony L. kit and will be shooting this through the off season to see how things go. I did shoot it hunter style in the WFTF class with a 16X scope in the last match and ended up with a 46/60, so I am thinking with a 35X scope and the FT stock, it will be at least as good as the other HC.

Having to do a lot of shooting with these evolving rigs, so that is a good thing.
