With the 2021 season finally about to start, I figured it was time to select an action and set it up for the season

I chose the HC action that has the Tony Leech 22mm kit in it. With the JSB 8.44 in 4.52, it is every bit as accurate as my SR. One advantage is that the HC seems to balance better and is easier to keep steady in the standing and kneeling positions. Many matches have been won or lost on an individuals performance on these discipline lanes. Also, I have another HC action if I decide to stick with the HC. I could kit it out identical to the one shown in the pic and even have a scope mounted and sighted in. In case of trouble, all I would have to do is put the action into the stock and carry on.

The velocity is pretty consistent around 770 fps and that velocity seems to provide the best accuracy.

I may add a Rowan adjustable riser to the rig for the August match and see if that is something that adds or detracts from performance. Also waiting on a custom barrel weight to see if that cuts down on the vertical spread. It can be a game of millimetres between a knock down and a clip on the edge of a hit zone. Besides, tinkering is great fun and it forces you to shoot a lot more to see if things work. How can that be bad?

You know Ace, I passed on that stock once and then thought I would give it a try when the second chance came. Very glad I took the opportunity, since it was so comfortable when I finally tried it. I do not know if it would be as good with a full size TX, but for the carbine, the balance is spot on. The adjustable bits make it even better to adjust to suit the shooter.

Very impressive looking rig Tim. What is the overall weight compared to a standard TX200 HC?

As pictured, it is just a tad over 14 pounds. My TX200SR was just over 16 pounds with that scope. It feels light to me. This is strictly a field target gun, so the extra weight, over a TX200HC in a standard stock, steadies it nicely.

I will always choose function over looks. As I have said before, if it does not work for me, which means knocking down targets, it's gone, no matter how pretty it looks.

It's beautiful. I agree with Ace, forest green laminate ply would be awesome. But yes function before beauty. In recent years I've noticed a trend with all my tools. The less attention I pay to aesthetics the more I use the tool in it's designed purpose which to me means more value. Clean and maintain yes but I no longer agonize over dents and scratches.

For me, a gun has to look good before it shoots good, and this is a looker! [emoji12]
I can not stand for a scratched or dented stock, if I can help it, I will immediately.

Yeah... Same here. Air gun is not a tool to me. Like how it shoots but also love to treat it like an art piece ~ no doubt we got nice ones on this thread~

Added the Rowan riser to stock. Probably does not help the looks, but for those that want adjustability and the ability to hit targets at all levels of elevation, I am hoping it is the cat's meow.

It looks great! A good engineering piece always take into account both functionality and good looking ~ and the Rowan Engineering does so well without doubt!
