Sillymike posted a pic of an old Remington XP-100 on another sub-forum. Back in my younger years I always wanted to own one of those unique pistols. There was just something slick about the way it looked and the ability to shoot nice groups at 100 yards. I never got a chance to own one but I can pretend when shooting my TAU-7 air pistol. This afternoon I was out in the country shooting a hanging spoon at 30 yards with the TAU-7 (thinking it's a Rem XP-100). Lot's of fun!

Never seen The Remington. I take it was a CO2 model?

The XP is a bolt action powder burner. I've always wanted one of them too. I always found the Magnum Research Lone Eagle dead sexy.

The Remington XP-100 was originally chambered for the tiny .221 Fireball. It looked like a short .222 Rem round.

funny how the bolt action of this airsoft spring power rifle is so very similar to the Remington XP-100

While everyone was taking about Dirty Harrys S&W M29 it was the TC Contender in 444 marlin that drew my interest in my younger years. I really wanted to try silhouette. The Rem would be a worthy alternative.

No use for any of that stuff these days. I'll just have to find a way to be happy with the LP10e.

That LP10e would be a nice spoon shooter with a little reflex red dot on top.

affixing optics is always a struggle to resist pistol or rifle. It's just fun! However mine are duty purposed for ISSF 10m activities. I guess the solution is to buy another setup for shooting spoons? Would the wife ever know the difference?

I do love your spoon and equipment solution. The Tau 7 is far more capable that I ever was or will be.

As do I. I didn't realize how serious AP Silhouette could be. Not a matchdot? I am unaccustomed seeing a two hand grip on a steyr AP. That action looks very interesting. Must be a spring loaded manual advance unlike the LP50 which is auto advance. Too bad that action isn't target sprint allowed. Would be a lot closer to mimicking biathon but I understand they have to keep the playing field level in terms of equipment availability and price. Do that have that action in an air rifle? I'm almost drooling over that.

Those are neat pistols, I have seen them around but never actually fired one. The TAU7 was one of my favorites but sold it for some reason, I guess I thought money was more important which its really not. I am happy with my HW40 and HW45 which you convinced me I needed all those years ago.
