Well that would certainly be a interesting story, "Canada's sole Olympic shooter has her firearms license revoked & shooting pistols confiscated by the RCMP".

Maybe just the story needed to get the government to add some common sense to the gun legislation.

While it's common sense and best practice I do not believe it's against the law nor is it against the regulation of your pal/rpal to have your finger in the trigger guard. Is she promoting poor safety practice, perhaps but that's debatable. A range rule, most certainly.
