This is my Colt Commander. A fine all metal 1911 replica. Although an Umarex, it is exactly the same gun as the KWC and Air Venturi manufacturerd 1911s, with varying finishes and small features between them.
What I like most about this 1911 are the big, tall and bright tactical sights...and of course it's great, punchy blowback.

Yes, they are SOOOO comfortable. The original black plastic grips were begging to be changed. Also, the Colt lettering and graphics on the gun are an off white so they take on the colour of the FDE grips nicely. Found them on clearance so not much added cost either.

Thanks! It's available and a handful of Canadian retailers but price can vary between $135-$175. I got mine from Kriss at ReplicaGuns.ca

It’s a nice looking pistol! How is the accuracy?

Thanks, I'm an eighties baby...so I grew up watching all those old 80s action movies with all those awesome guns. This Colt kinda reminds me of that early sleek black tactical look from back then. The FDE grips add some Desert Storm influenced styling to it as well.

It shoots great, like any 1911...heavy and with a kick... But hard to shoot successive shots accurately until you get good at target reacquisition after repeated, fast blowbacks.

I have a pair of Umarex Colt 1911 Combat Vet versions of this 1911 BB pistol.

Yours look nice, but call me a purist, as I just love the vintage, simplistic, weathered, look of this version of the 1911. They really look like they were from WWII. Also have WWII replica 1911 belt holster & tanker holster for them.

Also have two pairs of wood grips that I will install, once I get time to dremel them to fit a CO2 airgun.

It find them to be two of the most accurate CO2 BB pistols I own. Shoot them on my 24 ft. basement range.

Nice looking 1911 Gunsnrows.

Where did you get the grips?

Are they real wood?

Did you have to cut out the back of them to fit over the CO2 cylinder bumps?

I think, with this gun it is what it's supposed to be, a classic 1911 design with modern appointments. As with most things I own, I like to have both traditional and modern versions
of them.
With enough use I've seen these Commanders wear quite nicely. I'm also fairly well versed at applying advanced wearing as well, which is what the manufacturer is doing from the factory with the Combat Vet and John Wayne versions.

Hi BB1,

These are my favourite 1911 grips. They are real Walnut, checkered, double-diamond and include a Colt medallion. :D

I bought these grips on eBay, a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, there are not as many sellers, now.

Yes, you need to cut away some of the inside of the grip, in order to accomodate the CO2 bulb. A dremel works well.

Nice pistol. But doesnt look like an actual commander, but government length. 4.25 vs 5" Barrel.

I personally think paying extra for "the weathered" look is like buying pre ripped jeans.

It always look tacky and super fake. The only way to get a weathered look is to use them.
