Never think about co2 guns are good for vermin controls. First, power wise, second accuracy wise... It's just a different purpose not suitable for it.

Recommended PCP to the gentleman is right ~ I always think PCP is a good tool. Easy to shoot, accurate enough, lots of power if you want...

It all depends on how well you know your equipment, as was mentioned. I had a .22 qb78 bulk fill tuned to 20 ft/lbs. Was plenty accurate and consistent enough for fair weather shooting.

But absolutely, PCP rifles are the ticket for the aforementioned purposes.

Yes, I agree some moded (or say heavily moded) co2 guns can be a good hunting too, however 99% out there and 100% on the store racks are not recommended for the job, right?

(I took a few squirrels with my 2240 too, but my springers would be still much better for the job if I needed do it again...)

.My 160 was used year round it's warmer here in winter months it what the qb 78 is based on .Not into the new plastic co2 rifles and yes pcp is better but a 22 rim fire is better than pcp and so on ..............

Nothing much with which to disagree in this thread. Personal preference seems to be very dynamic.

For someone who is considering how to enter air gunning, depending on the list of factors, I recommend a QB79 because of the larger reservoir and ease of converting to HPA.

Mine has a 13CI Ninja air bottle, pumped to 3,000 PSI which gives 120-150, .177 pellets before pressure drops to 1,000 PSI, Hand pumping isn't a problem, even at 72 & while talking on the phone. 7.9 grain pellets @ 730 fps = 9.35 fpe which would be enough for small critters if I hunted. IIRC, regulator pressure can safely be increased to 1,100 PSI for more power but I don't see the point. I have (3) .22 PCP rifles and a bunch of other air guns, but only the QB79 (indoors), and the .22 PCPs (range on metallic silhouettes to 100 metres) are used.
