Hi thanks for any help,
I need to up the power on my new K98 I purchased from Heights Outdoors out in Winnipeg. It's coming in at 17 fpe with a Hades 15.89s doing 690 to 700 fps so under by a big margin as I owned 2 other 460 Diana's both shooting 785 fps with the JSBs 15.89s . Wonderful rifles all tuners agree. So after the aftermath of my last 3 Howitzers literately blowing up on me I still love critical mass theory in a air springer or ram. So I figured right with this Mauser. It's too pricey to make so I think they will drop the line. But to me it's another magical rifle ... it's basically recoiless at 17 fpe!
So wow ...
Now we have a new platform to reach my belief, that all (high end) springers and rams will out sell pcps one day soon.
I was asking if we can trust a PG4 Steel Tune kit for this Mauser? I would like to bring it to 21 fpe.
I appreciate it ,
Captain Air

Is the Mauser the same power plant as the 460?
I have looked at the pg4, i like the idea of the open springs but not sure how long the guides will last. Heck it might work perfectly and last forever...
I called a spring maker inquiring about what spring he would use for an air rifle, I mentioned valve steel and right away he said chrome silicon. Vortek uses it too.
All the testament I have seen convinces me that vortek knows what's up.

That sounds very positive yes, thanks for looking into it.
It seems I may be at where to buy it from now. I was thinking direct U.S. But it would cost much.
Yes it is the 460 power plant indeed. I tried you tube , unreal because it looks like a novelty gun it's so far gets treated like one?
There is no real reviews like you would get Andy's reviews and such but just weird ... under 11 fpe ??
Thanks again,
Captain Air

If I was shopping for a drop in kit https://dlairgun.com/collections/350/pr ... vtk-ma-006

I typically turn down my own top hats and spring guides from delrin. And use factory springs and seals when I can. Otherwise I’ll order parts individually from AirRifleHeadquarters. Lots of options just need to narrow down what is wanted from the rifle.

Thank you so much Hobbyman.
I will broaden my search now for sure. I didn't know there is custom options.
Ya I love the firing behavior as it is now, but It's a shame not to squeeze out at least 21 fpe from the 460 power plant that is the Diana Mauser.
This K98 should of been way more popular. If people can't shoot well, this rifle will not miss. It's forgiving as it can't move around in wind I noticed right away and it holds still too. Sight picture retention is awesome as it's recoil behavior have some secretes in there 460 power plant. Anyway I may review it soon. Any time I have free we shoot so that's a good thing.
Cheers,
Captain Air
