As you can see the hi-mount give you that extra room you will need.

Have you though about using hi-mount rings.......if you just need better access to the loading port, that will help. I put a set on my HW97 for the same reason.

Thanks for the suggestion but I get good cheek weld with the mounts in the pic. High mounts will require some buttstock modification so I have stock contact. Does your HW97 stock have a high comb?

Based on my little experience, will the compact scope fits or not is really depends and you might have to try... It's not only related to the shooter, scope spec but also the place you put on... Sometimes the off set mount can help, but as lack of height to choose, not sure you can get the perfect one. And sometimes you might just need nothing and the scope looks like found it's cozy home then... :)

I bought a compact scope before, and found an off-set mount is a must but I didn't have one in hand at the moment so I returned it and exchanged for another normal scope... (I got an off set mount afterwards and never have a chance to use it then~)

And this time I picked another compact scope for my cz200 which has very little place on the action top to mount a scope and usually ppl have to use the extra rail block to mount a scope on the barrel... However I just need nothing else and the scope works well and sit tight perfectly on top of the action... Image

I bought a Vector Veyron 3-12 x 44 from Wes and have had it on my Crosman Optimus (full power spring), my HW50, and since my other scope just broke, I have now moved it on to my TX200.
It is only 9.7 inches long and focuses down to about 7.5 yards.
I like it.
Unfortunately Wes shows sold out of these right now.

Let us know what you end up with.

That Vector might be a good choice. It's short enough to give full access to the load port work on this little underlever and still long enough to not require a special offset mount. Thanks!

I've put the smaller of my scopes on my WF, with the Hawke Match Mounts High. It's kinda long, 11.6". It all works well though, I may keep it like this.

I got reach-forward mounts for the Cometa to get enough eye relief, I had to drill a new stop-pin hole, too. Works very well. I took the scope off the Cometa. I wouldn't have stopped shooting it otherwise, it's a great rifle. I'm shooting all the other rifles now and rotating the scopes. I'm preparing to get a good air-rated scope, an Airmax.

I found an Ohhunt today. It's the 3-9x32 AO IR. Should arrive in a couple days.

I use Leapers compact scopes on my underlevers. Nice and short, etched glass reticle and 300mm
tube as well as comes with mounts for picitinny rail. I run one on each of my 97's.

Used to be able to get these from D&L Airguns in Richmond. Perhaps some other retail outfit in Canada has them?

The Leapers Compact looks like another option. Unfortunately, not many Canadian dealers seem to be able to get Leapers scopes these days. Are the Leapers 3-9x32AO Bug Buster scopes any good?

I have a couple of UTG 3-9x32 AO Mil-Dot Bug Busters on my Stormrider and QB79. They work well and are compact.
