So, after i squeezed the last drops out of my shaving cream, I examined the can and determined it was made out of aluminum.. Hmmm, I could recycle it.. but I think it would be a good source of aluminum shim stock. It's about 0.2 mm thick..much thicker than a pop can. The inner sack is good for the garbage and the blue cap can be recycled, but I'm thinking the canister is good for a piston liner! What do you think?

I never thought about opening up a shaving cream can. Sometimes I use shims for various things and this would be a great source for thicker aluminum than what a pop can provides. A piston liner is another idea, if the alum can be rolled into a small diameter. Thanks!

This is one of the reasons I enjoy shooting my airguns compared to my powder burners. Airguns respond well to "McGuyver-ing". I use the plastic from a yoghurt container for a piston liner! The plastic is thicker and doesn't seem to wear like a beer can or thin plastic from a water bottle. The thicker plastic doesn't always fit in some pistons though.

TBH, I will buy a bottle type next time to see if that's a better choice ~

Just finished servicing my FWB300 and put a sleeve made from a Root Beer can in... Will try the yoghurt sleeve next time...

I tried the plastic sleeve made from a juice bottle (much thicker than water bottles already), not sure if the material is different, the end was melt and bitten by the spring just after not many shots... Hope I could copy your success ~
