I'm sure that this is not the final form, I need to decide on an optic or iron sights of some sort but here is my 2240 become 2260 project in a functional state with Gravmag 9rd (10rd with one in the chamber) magazine. It functions perfectly so far and is a hoot to point and shoot without fumbling for pellets each shot. The magazine takes about 1min to install once you figure it out, it takes a little longer to reload depending on how butter fingers you are or not. I haven't managed to chronograph it reliably yet due to muzzle gas interfering but it seems to be shooting in the 650fps range with an unmodified 2240 valve and hammer spring. Barrel is a .22 24" Crosman unit.

Put a 4x cheap scope on the 2260 today, fits around the Gavmag perfectly and reduces the apparent bulk of the mag. The magazine completely transforms the shooting of the 2260. I can keep it at my shoulder and cycle the bolt without loosing sight of the target through the scope. Rate of aimed fire is roughly 1 shot every 2 seconds or so. It is easier loading pellets into the mag than putting them one at a time into the breech when the scope is mounted. The only negative thing so far is that I'm going to eat through my CO2 supply faster this way.

Do you have to loosen the screw to load the pellets and then after you push up the cover, tighten it again?

No, you adjust the tension on the screw till you can slide it back and forth without it moving by itself.

I'm not saying this better than a dedicated magazine breech conversion but for about $50 I'm loving it. Down the road I might go for a full breech conversion now that I know I like the repeater capability on a gun like this but I'll use it for now and enjoy the heck out of it.

I should add that it might now work with all pellets, they talk about this on the site where I bought it.

Here is a link to where I bought it:

I haven't seen them in person but do the Benjamin Discovery and Maximus use the same steel breech as the 22xx guns? If so this magazine should work on them to perhaps.

Edit... So I got off my mental buttock and looked for the information. The gravmag fits Benjamin Discovery, Benjamin Maximus, 2240, 2250, 2250XL, 1322, Steel Breech, Ratcatcher, and Ratbuster guns in .22 caliber.

It's a nice option for a decent price for sure.

Found a funny issue with this setup... the gun gets really cold. The shooting 3 or so mags in quick succession really chills the main tube down with all the CO2 changing state to keep up with the shooting.

Unfortunately not just cold, but likely lower velocity as well.

Co2 is notorious for needing some time between shots to maintain regularity, otherwise it's all over the place.

I'm highly interested in the gravmag myself, but just to negate the annoying finger-bumping when trying to load a pellet in the breech beneath my Simmons scope.

I wouldn't bother firing much faster than I would without the mag, it just makes it easier to carry extra shots on hand and less fiddly loading imo.

Sure looks nice though - now if only Alliance would reply to me about my 2250b forestock/hw order!

Bluefork Design AR style trigger group came in today.... can't wait to pick up a grip for it later this week.

Yes, the main thing with the Gravmag is it is just easier to load than trying to finger in a pellet under a scope.

As for Alliance Hobby... It would be nice if my parts ever got here. I ordered at the end of Aug. I contacted them a few days ago and he basically said don't panic and don't bother me they will get to you and gave me a tracking number. When I enter the tracking number it just says "Shipping Label Created, USPS Awaiting Item". So I think that I might get my goods at some point but I don't expect them to arrive in with any swiftness so to say. If/when they arrive I'll be able to complete my .177 2240/2260 rifle project.

A Hogue AR pistol grip would be nice on a gun like this. I've got a spare here so I'd be interested in your conversion results.

Yeah I had an issue with them with my riser. I waited 2 months to find out, that he didn't even bother shipping it out.
