about some CAF's buying a barrel band for their Hammerli 850.

I have a few questions.

Is this to improve accuracy of the rifle?

I bought a 3d printer last month and have just started printing things from Thingiverse as well as learning how to use Tinkercad. This might be a good project for me.

Do I design it so that there is no play as well as no tension between the screwed in paintball bottle and the barrel? I think there possibly was a lot of Hammerli 850 info that is now missing from the internet. the 850store is no more, and there are misc links to a defunct forum on network 54, so I think I need to rehash all these old questions.
