Went for fertilizer, came home with a fusion 2. I purchased this for my next project a challenge some would say. The mag was so hard to push in, I thought I was not installing it correctly. I checked the manual, no I was doing it right, so I tried the second mag and pushed harder with all force I could apply with my thumb, in it went. To remove it I had to push with a plastic pry bar. I first decided to sand the clear side of the mag to to reduce some width, but could not remove enough material. I then decided to remove material from the back side of the mag slot. With the bolt all way back I was able to file away some material, as I filed you could see that the surface was not flat. I removed some of the high spots. The mag now takes 11 lbs of force to install which is manageable. I think as I use it the mag will wear some making it easier.

This gun is made mostly off plastic, next will be a review, then mod info.

Yes it has the relief. When I finished polishing the the mag with 2000 grit and inserted it in the gun I could see the spots on the mag where it was binding on the clear plastic cover. The only difference is the amazon mag is missing the made in China stamp

Well it should work out for you. But that is poor quality control by Umarex. I would of thought they would test their product prior to packing.

Surprised you kept it, and did not return it. Or at least make a call to Umarex customer service. I found them to be fairly helpful.

This can be a problem when you buy an airgun that is just newly released.

Sometimes, I find that airguns come out with design flaws that are corrected after being sold. Like the jamming issue on Umarex Legends MP40 magazine. Umarex corrected it by changing the magazine capacity from 60 BBs down to 52. And the Air Venturi M1 Carbine magazine had a lot of flaws. And Crosman AK1 mag. had issues inserting & removing it at first. In most cases the manufacturer was very liberal in their magazine replacement policy. Probably, less expensive to do this, than do comprehensive beta testing & delaying the release of the gun.

I had a problem getting the battery into the red dot scope on my Crosman A4-P. So I called Crosman customer service. After being passed around to a couple of people, someone finally walked me thru the process. Must say it was not easy (must squeeze with your thumb & screwdriver at same time). Hope I never need to change the battery again.

I have a similar type of airgun, the Artemis CR600W, .22 cal., Single CO2 powered, 7 shot, bolt action air rifle, with nice wood stock. Have owned it for a number of years. Have been very happy with it. But it is a bit picky with the pellets that work in the rotary clip. I find higher quality flat head pellets work the best

If you want to avoid the rotary clip issue, maybe look at the Umarex Legends Cowboy Lever Action rifle that shoots both BBs & Pellets (but need to buy the silver pellet shells, if you want to shoot pellets). Operates fairly close to the real Winchester 1894. They sell it at my local feed supply store, so maybe check it out next time you are in town for fertilizer:
