I just picked up one of these Champion 22lr bullet traps on Amazon for $68.40. This is so much better than my Beeman pellet trap, it is about 3x the size and the back plate is ~1/8" thick steel. I don't think I'll have trouble shooting through this one. The back plate of my Beeman trap is all bulged out, it is also pierced in one spot from when my Crosman Vantage had a significant oil detonation.

The heavy back plate is well angled and transitions through a nice curve, at it's base, into a bullet pocket/trap area in the bottom. I don't expect any pellets will be able to escape this unit.

I can hang two of the targets that I used to only be able to hang one of with my Beeman trap.

I got mine for about 50$ on clearance at CT, several years ago. It is what I got in the basement for testing.

I get occasional pellets bouncing out, and ricochet. I need to get a new bulldog clip as I shot mine many times.

Even daily, I had something in my cart dropped 2$, and later in the same day, increased 2$.

I had one of the Outer's .22cal bullet traps in the late 90s. It worked great and stopped everything. It was a bit loud for indoor use and I didn't like that it created lead dust. I ended up making a silent duct seal trap in 2000 and have been using it ever since.

I also shoot Chronographs. I made a slogan that I wish Shooting Chrony accepted.

" If you have not shot it, it's not a Chrony "

Yes, it is a bit noisy. Rings like a gong when hit, might stuff it with some rags or something to damp it down and reduce possible dust/fragment issues. I like that it is so big it is hard to miss it and I don't have to worry about shooting through it.

To keep dust down and pellets from coming out. Cover the front in duct tape, or drape some fabric. I used to have some duct seal smeared on the backside to quiet it.

The trap I have in the garage, is a milk crate, that I cut a piece of plywood to sit down, screwed it on, and covered it in duct seal. Then I got another one the same, with a bunch of gongs, made from hinges. I need to pick up another milk crate as I might put on in the back range to setup my targets.

I had mine from over 15 years, i shoot maybe 20 brick of .22 lr standard and subsonic at 9 m and it still on perfect shape. I have no idee how many pellet it stop for sure it s munch more than the 22 lr.

I simply put a piece of carboard on the front and stick my target with masking tape, no rebound at all . When i cast bullet for my powerburner i empty it and reuse the lead.
